Program goal is to break the generational cycle of incarceration with education and career training opportunities. The curriculum provides software development training in two six month cohorts. Web Development Fundamentals and MERN Development. In addition to the curriculum, The Last Mile will support DOCR residents upon release with continued education, personal and professional development and job placement opportunities. The DOCR partnered with Commerce and Job Service to fund the program via the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Moving forward the DOCR will assume funding responsibility.
