The low income assistance activities within Community Services center around the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program. The CSBG program is administered statewide with direct client services being provided through the state's seven Community Action Agencies (CAAs) and the North Dakota Community Action Partnership (NDCAP).
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program provides financial assistance to eligible units of local governments in the form of grants and loans for public facilities, housing rehabilitation and economic development projects.
Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) programs and services are designed to promote self-sufficiency, family stability and community revitalization.
Community Development activities within the Division of Community Services center around a number of programs and resources designed to improve the quality of life for North Dakota residents. Many of these programs are delivered through partners (units of local government, emergency shelters, homeless shelters, community action agencies and others) across the state. The Consolidated Plan is a five year outlook of the state's housing and community development needs and resources.
