The Commerce Cabinet is made of state agencies that work to coordinate and communicate on efforts related to economic development and tourism. The commissioner of the North Dakota Department of Commerce acts as chairman and determines what agencies are members of this advisory group.
Foundation
The North Dakota Economic Development Foundation was established by the Legislature in 2001 to provide private-sector guidance and oversight of the state's economic development efforts. The 22 member private foundation, made up of business leaders from all corners of the state, establishes and updates the state’s economic development strategic plan. The Foundation meets quarterly to monitor progress toward economic development goals, to discuss major business and economic issues, and to offer suggestions for improving North Dakota's business climate.
