The North Dakota Department of Commerce announces the opening of the Regional Workforce Impact Program (RWIP)application portal next week, on Feb. 5, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. The program helps North Dakota communities develop innovative solutions to workforce challenges. Applications are due April 1, 2024.

"The RWIP is a pivotal opportunity for communities and regions in North Dakota to create lasting solutions for our workforce challenges,” Commerce Workforce Director Katie Ralston Howe said. “We’re proud of the innovative, impactful, locally ledsolutions we supported in the first round of the RWIP and we’re looking forward to seeing what communities propose."

The RWIP, funded by the 68th North Dakota Legislative Assembly, offers grants to regional workforce entities in North Dakota to tackle their workforce challenges.

Key Points: 

  1. Immediate Challenge Solutions: RWIP supports initiatives targeting the most pressing workforce challenges to boost economic stability. 
  2. Collaboration: Regional partners are encouraged to work together to maximize resources and create sustainable solutions. 
  3. Geographical and Demographic Impact: Collaborations that impact various communities  and populations throughout a region are suggested, though not mandatory.
