Community Development activities within the Division of Community Services center around a number of programs and resources designed to improve the quality of life for North Dakota residents. Many of these programs are delivered through partners (units of local government, emergency shelters, homeless shelters, community action agencies and others) across the state. The Consolidated Plan is a five year outlook of the state's housing and community development needs and resources.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

The CDBG Program provides financial assistance to eligible units of local Governments in the form of grants and loans for Public Facilities, Housing Rehabilitation and Economic Development projects.

Renaissance Zone Program

The Renaissance Zone program is to revitalize communities in our state and encourage development through tax incentives.
