APUC Awards Funding Totaling $235,397

Bismarck, N.D. -- The North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission (APUC) awarded funding requests for 8 projects totaling $235,397 at its quarterly meeting July in Medora.

APUC is a program of the North Dakota Department of Commerce that administers grant programs for research and development of new and expanded uses for North Dakota agricultural products. The grants can be used for basic and applied research, marketing and utilization, farm diversification, nature-based agritourism, prototype and technology and technical assistance.

The following requests were approved:

Baker Boy Bake Shop (Dickinson) was awarded a $105,000 grant to market two new donut products. Contact Guy Moos at (701) 225-4444.

Stump Lake Lodge (Pekin) was awarded a $21,294 grant to improve operations with the purchase of a Piranha Fish Cleaning Station. Contact Chris Ahl at (701) 381-2632.

Ridl's Country Fixins (Belfield) was awarded a $32,603 grant to design and build a custom exempt/state inspection meat processing room. Contact Clint Ridl at (701) 575-2024.

Geo-Matoes (Fullerton) was awarded a $10,500 grant to expand marketing operations of their hydroponic greenhouse. Contact Larry Schumacker at (701) 680-2472.

Plains Mobile (Linton) is requesting $10,500 to gain access to booths at marketing trade shows and events for their  farm and ranch management solution. Contact Jon Richter at (701) 321-2415.

University of North Dakota (Grand Forks) was awarded a $15,000 grant to design and develop an advanced integrated solar-LFP battery powered water pump system. Contact Yong Hou at (701) 777-4339.

NDSU - Coatings and Polymeric Materials (Fargo) was awarded a $30,000 grant to conduct a feasibility study of using free radical polymerization of monomers developed from oil-seed crops in personal care products. Contact Andriy Voronov at (701) 231-9563.

Pheasants Dakota (Regent) was awarded a $10,500 grant to acquire pheasant stock for their unique hunting experience using both a game preserve and natural setting in southwestern North Dakota. Contact Gary Greff at (701) 563-6400.
